John James Audubon's illustration of the Rathbone Warbler, historically identified as Sylvia rathbonia, depicts two delicate yellow songbirds with olive-green wings and finely patterned feathers perched among flowering vines. Brilliant red and golden-yellow trumpet-shaped blossoms cascade around the birds, creating a vibrant botanical composition that beautifully combines ornithological detail with the elegance of natural history illustration.
